Washington D.C.— In response to constituent concerns, Congressman Neguse sent a letter to the Comptroller General of the United States inquiring about ways to combat train horn noise in Colorado’s urban areas. Congressman Neguse has asked that the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) conduct a review of the ways to reduce train horn noise in all urban areas throughout the United States.
Washington D.C. — Congressman Neguse has passed an amendment on the House floor to ensure robust funding for the Postal Service Fund. The provision will be included in the Fiscal Year 2020 Financial Services legislation. The Postal Service Fund provides additional funding to the revenue received from its customers to cover the costs of free mail for the blind as well as overseas funding. This amendment will support the Postal Service’s delivery services and assist in shortening post office wait times in rural areas in particular.

Washington D.C.— Today, Congressman Neguse announced a $3,987,750 million grant from FEMA which will be delegated to rebuild the Lower Beaver Brook Dam. This grant will fund the replacement of a highly hazardous 114-year-old rockfill embankment dam with a new concrete gravity dam. The purpose of the project is to substantially reduce the risk of future damage, hardship, loss, or suffering in communities as a result of a future dam failure.
Washington, D.C.— This week, Representative Joe Neguse, introduced a bicameral legislative package to ensure fair, equitable policies on affordable housing contracts. The two bills, the Save Affordable Housing Act and the Affordable HOUSE Act change existing rules for properties constructed with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit to cut red tape and preserve America’s commitment to providing affordable housing.
Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Joe Neguse secured key funding priorities for Colorado’s public lands, labs, and state NASA partnerships in H.R. 3055, the second “minibus” package of fiscal year 2020 appropriations, which funds the Departments of Interior, Energy, Agriculture, Commerce, Justice, Science, Veterans Affairs, Transportation and Housing and Urban Development, as well as the Food and Drug Administration.

Legislation introduced by Congressman Neguse to install Loveland artist Jane DeDeckers Every Word We Utter statue depicting Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Sojourner Truth, Alice Paul, and Ida B. Wells was originally introduced in January and has grown in momentum and support since then.
