Washington, D.C. — Today, Colorado Representatives Joe Neguse and Yadira Caraveo introduced the Federal Labs Modernization Act. This bill would invest in and modernize federal labs, including those located in Colorado’s Second District.

Washington D.C.— Congressmen Joe Neguse (D-CO), Tim Burchett (R-TN), and Bill Foster (D-IL) introduced the bipartisan, bicameral Recycling and Composting Accountability Act (RCAA). This legislation will identify national composting infrastructure challenges and improve recycling data measurement and reporting. These key refinements to America’s recycling and composting systems will enable the country to move closer towards waste-free living. The bill is led in the U.S. Senate by Senators Carper (D-DE) and Capito (R-WV).

Lafayette, CO — Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, who represents the two largest research universities in the state, Colorado State University in Fort Collins and the University of Colorado at Boulder, announced over $3 million in federal funds allocated by the National Science Foundation (NSF) have been awarded to researchers at both institutions. The announcement includes $1,828,800 for four projects being conducted at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and $1,697,284 for six projects at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Joe Neguse introduced a bipartisan bill to establish a National Manufacturing Council with the goal of strengthening United States leadership in manufacturing and supporting the creation of better-paying American jobs. The National Manufacturing Advisory Council for the 21st Century Act is being co-led by Congressman Tracey Mann (R-KS) in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senators Gary Peters (D-MI), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Mike Braun (R-IN) in the U.S. Senate.

Communities impacted by the Marshall Fire will receive $390,000 in federal funding. Funding will go to Superior to help with damages sustained during the fire, specifically restoring storm-water infrastructure. The bill also includes other wildfire response initiatives, a pay raise for federal wildland firefighters and investments in collaborative forest programs. U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse, D-Colo. announced Monday that the Biden-Harris Administration and U.S. Department of Agriculture are making investments to help communities recover from and prepare for natural disasters.

A Colorado congressman has introduced a package of bills intended to improve access to affordable housing, particularly in Colorado’s rural mountain communities. 

U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse, a Lafayette Democrat, introduced two bills in the House of Representatives that would change aspects of the federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit as well as how local communities can calculate area median income.

With this compromise, we were able to safeguard vital programs like medical care for veterans, essential services for children and families, and crucial lifelines such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
