The town of Yampa may have had its first visit from a federally elected official since President Theodore Roosevelt stopped by about a century ago — or at least that’s what Routt County Commissioner Tim Corrigan thinks. U.S. House Rep. Joe Neguse, who was reelected to a third term in Congress in November, visited Yampa, Oak Creek and Steamboat Springs on Thursday, April 6, for his first visit to Routt County since he became its representative in January.
Congressman Neguse answered questions about climate change, the post office, and gun laws, on which he said we need to find ways to talk with each other on the issue and try to find a common ground.
50 years ago, almost to the day, the last U.S. combat troops left South Vietnam, ending our involvement in the war. But those soldiers came home to a new kind of trauma as many Americans shamed and shunned them. Colorado Congressman, Joe Neguse, is now trying to set the record straight. What happened to Vietnam veterans, he says, is a stain on our country.
Congressman Neguse was very aware of the long delay of residents getting access to the cluster boxes at the Alpenglow Village apartments behind Walgreens in Steamboat Springs. Yampa Valley Housing Authority has been trying to get the post office to make the cluster boxes active since the apartment complex was built over two years ago.
Lafayette, CO — On Thursday, April 6, 2023, Congressman Joe Neguse will hold a Routt County Town Hall in Steamboat Springs, to hear from Coloradans about the issues that matter to them. Congressman Neguse will provide a legislative update and answer questions from the audience. Routt County became part of Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District after redistricting in 2021.
Dear Neighbor, I hope that each of you are doing well! I spent the past two weeks in Washington, D.C., working with my colleagues in Congress to take action on issues that matter most to the hardworking people of Colorado’s 2nd District. We are focused on solving real challenges, including lowering costs, creating better paying jobs, and building safer communities. Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to:
Recently, Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Congressman Joe Neguse visited regional sites showcasing Colorado’s innovative and creative use of landmark American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds in Northern Colorado as a part of the Polis Administration’s commitment to save Coloradans money, support small businesses, strengthen the workforce, invest in sound mental health, and create a better future for Colorado’s children.

Wednesday’s virtual panel on the true cost of climate change was hosted by the Colorado Fiscal Institute and the Environmental Defense Fund and featured Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet and Congressman Joe Neguse as panelists. Neguse represents Colorado’s second congressional district. The congressman pointed out that the district has seen in the last 18 months the largest and second largest wildfires in Colorado history — the Cameron Peak and East Troublesome fires — along with the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history, the Marshall fire.
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Joe Neguse announced the introduction of “Ally’s Act,” his bicameral, bipartisan legislation to ensure private insurance companies cover osseointegrated hearing devices (“OIDs”), including bone anchored hearing aids (“BAHA”) and cochlear implants. Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Mike Thompson (D-CA), and Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) joined the reintroduction.
