Congressman Neguse’s SOAR Act, SHRED Act and MAPLand Act will all be considered in the Public Lands Subcommittee which he chairs
As part of his “Restoring Our Lands and Communities Agenda” Chair Neguse promised to prioritize investments in Colorado’s outdoor recreation economy
Washington D.C.— Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, Chair of the U.S. Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands introduced the Simplifying Outdoor Access for Recreation (SOAR) Act, legislation which would simplify the permitting process for outdoor guides, outfitters, education organizations, and college and university programs. The legislation is cosponsored by Representatives Diana DeGette (CO), Debbie Dingell (MI) and Ruben Gallego (AZ).
Washington, D.C. — This week, Congressman Joe Neguse’s bill to designate the U.S. Post Office at 1905 15th Street in Boulder, Colorado as the “Officer Eric H. Talley Post Office Building,” passed out of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Officer Eric Talley was killed in the line of duty on March 22nd, 2021 during the King Soopers shooting in Boulder. The bill, led by Congressman Neguse, is also supported by Colorado Representatives Ken Buck, Jason Crow, Diana DeGette, Doug Lamborn, Ed Perlmutter and Lauren Boebert.

Washington, D.C.—This week, Congressman Joe Neguse took a road trip across the 2nd District, making stops in 12 towns and 6 counties and speaking with community members, child care providers, small business owners, and fire chiefs about relief the American Rescue Plan is providing and his proposal to make historic investments in wildfire preparedness through the Bipartisan Wildfire Caucus that he chairs and the 21st Century Civilian Climate Corps legislation he has introduced.
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse unveiled a legislative package which would ensure government accountability on climate action. The Green Government Resolution would follow the local leadership of 14 cities and counties across Colorado, and put the U.S. Capitol Complex in line with Washington D.C.’s local renewable electricity goals. The Carbon Cost Act, also unveiled today, model’s Colorado’s legislation to ensure that future legislative proposals from Congress include carbon scoring to better understand the climate impacts.
Washington D.C.— Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, Chairman of the U.S. House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands, sent a letter to the Department of Interior advocating for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) headquarters to remain in Grand Junction, Colorado.
