A few weeks after I was first elected to the U.S. Congress in November of 2018, I travelled to Washington D.C. for congressional orientation. Amidst the many panel presentations, policy discussions and introductions to my new colleagues, there was one experience that I will simply never forget — meeting civil rights hero, and my future colleague, John Lewis, for the very first time.
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse’s request for $358,000 in federal funding to support wildfire risk reduction efforts in Jefferson County—which was included in the House minibus appropriations bill—passed the House. The funds would support wildfire risk mitigation and help protect local and regional water supplies.
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, Chair of the U.S. House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands, announced the inclusion of funds for wildfire management and climate resiliency from his 21st Century Conservation Corps Act (H.R. 1162) and Disaster Safe Power Grid (H.R. 3209) legislation in the bipartisan infrastructure agreement, as reported today.
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse passed $500,000 in federal funding through the House to build a Search and Rescue Training Center and Vehicle Storage Facility in Frisco. The current facility in Frisco is a dilapidated structure that lacks adequate heat, space for vehicles and equipment and offers no appropriate training space. This funding would build a facility that can provide necessary and appropriate training and storage space to both the Sheriff’s special operations group and the non-profit volunteer Summit County Rescue Group.
Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Neguse passed $1 million in federal funding for renovations to the Pulliam Community Building through the U.S. House of Representatives. The funding would allow the City of Loveland to renovate a community building that they anticipate will serve as a key shelter and resource distribution center during wildfires and other disasters.
In total, Congressman Neguse secured over $7 million in funding for community projects in his district to be included in the end of year spending bill.

In total, Congressman Neguse secured over $7 million in funding for community projects in his district to be included in the end of year spending bills.
Washington, D.C. — Last night, Congressman Joe Neguse, Chair of the U.S. Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands, passed an amendment through the U.S. House of Representatives to increase federal funding for wildland fire management by $2 million. The amendment was added to H.R. 4502, the FY2022 Seven-Bill Appropriations Minibus and increases funding for Wildland Fire Management Accounts at the Department of Interior and the U.S.
The House passed a bill Thursday that would make Camp Amache, a former Japanese American internment camp located in southeastern Colorado, part of the National Park System, on a 416-2 vote.
Washington, D.C. — Last night, Congressman Joe Neguse passed an amendment through the U.S. House of Representatives to increase federal funding for school-based mental health professionals by $2 million. The amendment was added to H.R. 4502, the FY2022 Seven-Bill Appropriations Minibus and would support competitive grants to State educational agencies to increase the number of qualified mental health service providers in schools. A final vote on the bill is expected later this week.
