Congressman Neguse is a sponsor of the Medicare for All Act, and serves as a Vice Chair of the Medicare for All Caucus.
Congressman Neguse has introduced the following bills in Congress:
-
Ally's Act: This legislation requires private insurance companies to cover osseointegrated hearing devices, including bone-anchored hearing aids and cochlear implants. This bill was inspired by Ally, an 11-year-old from Broomfield, Colorado, who was born without a right ear or hearing canal and therefore requires the use of a BAHA, which her insurance company denied coverage for.
-
Fairness in Social Security: This legislation would amend an IRS rule that places an unfair tax burden on widows, those with disabilities, recent retirees, and others. Congressman Neguse was inspired to introduce this legislation after a constituent in Silverthorne shared an issue he had, which left him owning over $27,000 back to the IRS because of a lump-sum social security disability payment.
-
Air Ambulance Affordability: This legislation eliminates surprise billing with the use of air ambulances. Air ambulances are often important to health and safety in mountainous and rural areas. Surprise bills currently create large financial burdens to insured individuals who may have thought the care they received would be covered or who were facing emergency situations - such as air rescue - that left them with no option but to access this care, regardless of its out-of-network status with their insurance company.
