Washington D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse sent a letter to Department of Interior Secretary David Bernhardt, urging immediate action to ensure that the operating procedures for national parks and public lands follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance to prioritize the health of federal employees and the public. Additionally, Neguse’s letter requests that the Department of Interior grant local and regional land managers the necessary authority to respond to the unique challenges they face in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

This week, the first cases of COVID-19 testing "presumptive positive" were discovered in Colorado. Two positive test results were received on Thursday night and the other 6 were received last night. The cases are considered a “presumptive positive” because testing was conducted at the state level and these cases have now been sent to the CDC for official confirmation.

Washington D.C.— Congressman Joe Neguse, who represents Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District in Congress, has helped pass the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, emergency supplemental funding to help address the Coronavirus epidemic. The funding package which comprises bipartisan and bicameral agreement passed the House on Wednesday and cleared the Senate this afternoon.

The bill includes over $9 million in emergency CDC funding for Colorado.
