Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, announced the reintroduction of “Ally’s Act,” his bicameral, bipartisan legislation to require private insurance companies to cover osseointegrated hearing devices (“OIDs”), including bone anchored hearing aids (“BAHA”) and cochlear implants. The bill was inspired by Ally, an 11-year-old from Broomfield, Colorado, who was born without a right ear or hearing canal and therefore requires the use of a BAHA.

Low-interest federal disaster loans will be available for certain private nonprofit organizations in Colorado following the federal disaster declaration for Public Assistance as a result of wildfires that occurred Sept. 6 through Nov. 5, 2020. Private nonprofits that provide essential services of a governmental nature are eligible for assistance.

Washington D.C.—Today, the State of Colorado was approved for a disaster declaration status that will bring in needed resources for the state for wildfire recovery. In December, Congressman Joe Neguse led a letter of support, signed by the bipartisan delegation, urging swift adoption of Governor Polis’s request for the declaration. Three of the state’s five largest wildfires occurred in 2020, two of which impacted the 2nd Congressional District, represented by Congressman Neguse.
