Washington D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse led a letter, signed by Senator Michael Bennet, Senator John Hickenlooper and Colorado Representatives Diana DeGette, Ed Perlmutter and Jason Crow, to President Joe Biden in support of sanctuary families living in houses of worship throughout Colorado. The letter requests stays of removal for individuals living in sanctuary in Colorado.

In a letter to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Acting Secretary David Pekoske, Neguse and other lawmakers, applauded the steps President Biden took this week to phase out the use of private prisons within the Department of Justice.

Washington D.C.— Today, Congressman Joe Neguse announced the reintroduction of the Next Generation Votes Act, his bill to enact nationwide pre-registration for 16 and 17-year-olds. Before being elected to Congress, Congressman Neguse founded Colorado’s largest youth voter mobilization organization, New Era Colorado, which championed initiatives like pre-registration and online voter registration across the state. The Next Generation Votes Act builds on work Congressman Neguse began in Colorado to make it easier for young people to get involved in the political process.

Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, announced the reintroduction of “Ally’s Act,” his bicameral, bipartisan legislation to require private insurance companies to cover osseointegrated hearing devices (“OIDs”), including bone anchored hearing aids (“BAHA”) and cochlear implants. The bill was inspired by Ally, an 11-year-old from Broomfield, Colorado, who was born without a right ear or hearing canal and therefore requires the use of a BAHA.

Washington D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, announced the availability of Small Business Administration support for businesses in Grand and Larimer Counties who were impacted by the Cameron Peak and East Troublesome Fires. Low-interest federal disaster loans will be available for certain private nonprofit organizations in Colorado following the federal disaster declaration for Public Assistance as a result of wildfires that occurred Sept. 6 through Nov. 5, 2020. Private nonprofits that provide essential services of a governmental nature are eligible for assistance.
