Washington D.C.— Last night, Congressman Joe Neguse’s bill to promote government accountability and oversight, the Strengthening Ethics Act of 2021, passed the House of Representatives. The legislation makes technical changes to Title 5 of the U.S. Code, elevating the Federal Advisory Committee Act, the Inspector General Act of 1978, and the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 into the bill text.

Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Michael Bennet (D-CO), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Representatives David Cicilline (D-RI), and Mike Quigley (D-IL), led over 50 House and Senate lawmakers in a bicameral effort asking the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to review and update its longstanding policy recommending the disqualification of men who have had sex with men (MSM) in the preceding 5 years as potential tissue donors for corneas, heart valves, skin, and musculoskeletal and vascular tissue.
