Washington, D.C.— Congressman Joe Neguse has been awarded the “Spirit of Service” award from the Town Hall Project— a national organization that tracks congressional town halls and encourages a stronger, fairer better democracy. The Town Hall Project recognized Neguse for demonstrating outstanding commitment to serving his district by facilitating a first-of-its-kind service town hall initiative and holding consistent town halls across the 2nd District throughout his first year in office.

Washington, D.C.— This week, Congressman Neguse announced that Crossroads Safehouse in Fort Collins has been awarded nearly $450,000 from the Office of Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice. The three-year grant will help fund a new Road to Rapid Rehousing program that will provide victims of domestic violence who are exiting emergency shelter with financial, rental, and housing-search assistance to help them find and maintain permanent housing, free from the threat of violence and abuse.

Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Joe Neguse, who represents Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District and serves as Vice Chair of the House Judiciary’s Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial and Administrative Law, announced that the Subcommittee will hold a field hearing in Colorado on January 17th. The hearing will be the fifth in a series hosted by the Subcommittee on dominant platforms and will examine the state of competition in the digital marketplace.

Washington, D.C.— Today, Congressman Joe Neguse announced Andrew Woen as the winner of the 2019 Congressional App Challenge for Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District. Woen created an app entitled “ReDetect” which tells users what items can be recycled through image recognition and machine learning. Woen is 16-years-old and attends Peak to Peak High School in Boulder County.

Washington, D.C.— Today, the bipartisan and bicameral legislation led by Congressman Joe Neguse to protect Colorado wildlife in the Platte River basin was signed into law by the President. The Platte River Recovery Implementation Program Extension Act, which Neguse introduced in June, was included in the end-of-year minibus package that will fund the Departments of Agriculture, Labor, Energy, Interior, State, Housing and Urban Development, Veterans Affairs and the Legislative Branch.
