Washington D.C.— Today, Representatives Joe Neguse, Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez, Judy Chu, Marcy Kaptur, Bobby Rush and Senators Ron Wyden, Chris Coons, and Ed Markey led a letter signed by over 80 lawmakers urging inclusion of the Civilian Climate Corps in the final budget reconciliation deal. Initial reporting of the Senate’s framework for a deal notes general support for the concept, but the final funding and details will be agreed upon in the coming weeks.

Congressman Neguse published a similar guide in October 2020, as multiple record-setting wildfires burned across his district.

Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Neguse announced that $1 million in federal funding for renovations to the Pulliam Community Building in Loveland, Colorado, will be included in this year’s House appropriations bill. The funding would allow the City of Loveland to renovate a community building that they anticipate will serve as a key shelter and resource distribution center during wildfires and other disasters. The Pulliam Community Building was used as a community meeting spot for over 70 years before being shuttered due to ADA and fire code non-compliance.

Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse announced that his request for $1 million in federal funding to create a joint bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering between Adams State University and Colorado State University has been included in the House appropriations bill. The program would expand STEM Education to historically underserved students in rural Colorado, and is supported by several Colorado-based companies.
