Rep. Neguse Releases Statement on 2nd Anniversary of Mass Shooting at King Soopers in Boulder, Colorado
Lafayette, CO — Congressman Joe Neguse issued the following statement on the second anniversary of the devastating mass shooting at the Table Mesa King Soopers in Boulder, Colorado that claimed the lives of 10 members of the community:
“Today, my heart is with the people of Boulder, as we remember and honor the ten members of our community whom we tragically lost to gun violence two years ago today. They were fathers and mothers, daughters and sons, spouses and friends, neighbors, and coworkers — and each of them made a lasting impact on our community. May their memories continue to be a blessing.
“In our community–and cities and towns across the country–no one should have to fear for their life or for the safety of their loved ones when they go to school, the movie theater, or visit their local grocery store.”
“In the two years following this tragedy, we’ve heard the tremendous stories of the light and laughter that Officer Eric Talley, Teri, Kevin, Suzanne, Jody, Denny, Neven, Lynn, Rikki, and Tralona brought into the lives of their loved ones and all those they encountered. They each left an incredible impression in our hearts, and their legacies will live with us, and with all those they touched.”
“My prayers are with the families mourning a loved one on this difficult day. We are with you in mind and spirit.”
