Congressman Neguse Releases Statement Condemning the President’s Withdrawal of Troops from Northern Syria

Washington D.C.— Today, Congressman Joe Neguse issued the following statement in support of the bipartisan resolution that passed on the House floor condemning the President’s rash decision making concerning Syria:

“President Trump has unleashed chaos and insecurity in Syria, through a series of rash and misguided decisions. Our Kurdish allies have played a significant role in our gains against ISIS, and to abandon them is not only an abdication of our responsibilities and our word, but will have lasting and devastating implications in the region. Right now, we need a leader in Washington. Instead, the President has demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of the reality in Syria and the harmful implications that his erratic decision-making will have on our troops, our credibility with our allies around the world, and our own national security.”
