Congressman Neguse Issues Statement Celebrating National Park Week

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Neguse, Chair of the U.S. House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands, issued the following statement on National Park Week, 2022:

“Every year we dedicate a week in the month of April to celebrate and honor the culture and history of our country’s National Parks. As Coloradans are aware, the four national parks in our state are home to our most treasured public lands and diverse and thriving ecosystems. Mesa Verde, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, the Great Sand Dunes, and Rocky Mountain National Park all foster Colorado’s robust outdoor recreation economy and offer profound benefits to the health and safety of our communities. With over fifty-percent of Colorado’s Second Congressional District constituting public lands, I am reminded every day of the important role that these parks play in the lives of families across America.”

“As Chair of the National Parks Subcommittee, I’d like to extend my gratitude to all of the National Park Service employees who work to keep our parks open and running, and I encourage everyone to take the time this week to explore a National Park in their area.”
