Congressman Neguse to Host App-a-thon Coding Day at Google Office in Boulder

October 8, 2019

Washington D.C.— Congressman Joe Neguse, today, announced he will host Colorado’s first App-a-thon. The event will be held in Boulder this Saturday to support students in Colorado’s 2nd district who are participating in the Congressional App Challenge. The students will learn coding tricks and get hands-on experience working with different coding languages under the instruction of Google computer science experts.

This event will take place just weeks before the November 1st submission deadline for the Congressman’s Congressional App Challenge, which Neguse announced in August. The challenge is intended to encourage more students to participate in coding and computer science by designing a unique app in the coding language of their choice. It is open to students of all skill levels and will prioritize inclusivity and accessibility for all participants.

The App-a-thon is one of many local initiatives that Congressman Neguse is spearheading to connect with youth in the 2nd Congressional district, alongside family-friendly service town halls and the launch of his Youth Advisory Council.
