Congressman Joe Neguse Launches Congressional Pride Month Recognition Program to Honor Local LGBTQ+ Organizations Across the District
Washington D.C.— This Pride Month, Congressman Joe Neguse is launching a Congressional Pride recognition program to honor LGBTQ+ organizations throughout the 2nd Congressional District. Congressman Neguse is honoring 10 individuals and organizations with a Pride Flag that was flown outside his Washington D.C. office and a letter of recognition for their work in furthering equality and inclusion in the local community.
“Across the 2nd District, advocates and organizations are doing incredible work to further the cause for equality and inclusion by organizing local Pride parades, advancing public policy and celebrating members of our community,” said Congressman Joe Neguse. “This Pride Month, I am excited to honor a few of these individuals for their passion, dedication and commitment to the LGBTQ+ community in Colorado.”
This year’s Congressional Pride Recognition flags are being given to:
- Out Boulder County;
- SPLASH Youth of Northern Colorado;
- Transgender Center of the Rockies;
- Trek Bicycle in Fort Collins;
- Youth Seen;
- Left Hand Brewing Company in Longmont;
- Mr. Chifalo and the entire Rainbow Elders Team;
- Hunter & Melissa Markey, who organized Berthoud’s first Pride Parade;
- Lori Coulter, organizer for the Love is Love March in Loveland; and
- Pastor Nicole Garcia, Louisville.
