Congressman Joe Neguse Announces 3rd Annual Congressional Art Competition

March 2, 2021

Lafayette, CO—Today, Congressman Neguse announced the launch of his 3rd annual Congressional Art Competition for students in the 2nd Congressional District. The Congressional Art Competition is meant to encourage creativity and is an opportunity for high school students to be recognized for their artistic talents not only within the Congressional District but in our nation's capital.

“We’re excited to launch this year’s Congressional Art Competition for students across the 2nd Congressional District,” said Congressman Joe Neguse. “The competition has showcased tremendous talent and creativity over the last two years, and we look forward to seeing this year’s submissions.”

The past two winners, Jessica Raichle and Ollie Pol, both had their winning pieces hung in the halls of the Capitol for one year to celebrate their incredible accomplishments.

The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.

Submissions for the competition will be accepted through April 23rd, 2021, and can be emailed to Jill Grano at Jill.grano@mail.house.gov. If you would like more information on the annual Congressional District Art Competition visit neguse.house.gov.
