Working for Colorado’s Families & Everyday Americans!
Dear Neighbor, It has been a busy two weeks indeed since my last newsletter update! Last week, my colleagues and I worked to find common ground and voted to prevent a catastrophic default on our national debt. With this compromise, we were able to safeguard vital programs like medical care for veterans, essential services for children and families, and crucial lifelines such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Please know that I will continue to work in the best interest of everyday Americans, putting the people of Colorado first.
On a personal note, the Neguse family has some exciting news to share. This month, our family welcomed into the world our son Joshua! My wife Andrea and our baby boy are both doing great and we are feeling truly blessed and overjoyed.

COLLABORATION AND COOPERATION
This week, I joined Senator Michael Bennet in introducing the bipartisan Forest Service Flexible Housing Partnerships Act. This bill fosters a strong and mutually beneficial partnership between USFS and America’s rural and mountain communities. For countless folks in Colorado, and across the country, equipping the Forest Service with the ability to lease administrative sites will help to meet the needs of towns surrounded by federal lands, building on the existing program and increasing much-needed access to affordable housing.
Collaboration and cooperation — it’s the Colorado way. Learn more here.
WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN WORKING ON?
-
On Memorial Day we honored the brave Americans who gave everything to defend our great nation. It was great to spend the day at the Bolder Boulder Memorial Day race and meet with several of our country’s brave veterans.

As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, I re-introduced my bill to create new seats on Colorado’s federal district court. As Colorado’s population continues to grow, it is critical that our Federal judiciary has the capacity to address the needs of our state. Read more here.
