Welcome to the 118th Congress!
Dear Friends, It may have taken until nearly 2:00 a.m., but last Friday, at the U.S. Capitol, I was finally sworn-in into the 118th Congress! It is truly a privilege and an honor to represent the great state of Colorado in the United States House of Representatives. Amidst the chaos and confusion, I remain laser-focused on doing my job — delivering real results for the people of the 2nd District — from Fort Collins to Boulder, Granby to Longmont, Steamboat Springs to Frisco and everywhere in between!

SECURING WINS FOR THE GREAT STATE OF COLORADO
Last month, my colleagues and I successfully passed an end of the year omnibus bill that enacts many important priorities for families and hard-working individuals across Colorado. This bill included funding for 14 community projects in Colorado’s Second Congressional District, expanding critical resources for local early childhood programs, wildfire response systems, and so much more.
The 14 projects selected are as follows:
-
Funding for the Boulder County's Sherrif's Office for replacing the Boulder Emergency Siren System
-
Reducing traffic congestion and improving safety of road infrastructure in Fort Collins
-
Protecting the Eagle Valley Trail
-
Mitigating Wildfire Risk in Estes Park
-
Supporting the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority;
-
Lyons Emergency & Assistance Fund;
-
Latino Chamber of Commerce;
-
-
Funding the Town of Granby Highway 40 Trail Connection;
-
Town of Minturn for a Water Treatment Plant;
-
And the Town of Wellington for a Water Infrastructure Project.
-
-
Assisting the renovation of the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics at CU Boulder.
WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN WORKING ON?
-
JUST IN! We secured $785,304 in grant funding from the Department of Education for Eagle County Schools to support youth mental health programs! As the need for mental health resources grows, we’ll continue to work to ensure that folks across our mountain and rural communities can access these critical programs.

In honor of the one-year anniversary of the Marshall Fire, I spoke with Colorado Matters on our efforts to rebuild & recover from this devastating disaster.
