Reflecting on the State of the Union & More!

Newsletter

Dear Neighbor, Last week I was honored to attend the President’s State of the Union Address. The President highlighted key examples of how my colleagues and I in Congress have worked together to deliver real results for the American people. We’ve made historic progress while pursuing these goals, passing legislation to lower costs, create better-paying jobs, and build safer communities. And like the President said, we will work to ‘finish the job'.

I am deeply grateful to my guest Ellen Mahoney of Boulder for joining me for the day’s proceedings. After losing her beloved husband Kevin two years ago, Ellen has inspired so many through her dedication to building safer communities and her work to end gun violence. Words cannot express my gratitude for her — you can read more here.

USPS UPDATE: 24/7 P.O. BOX ACCESS AT DILLON POST OFFICE & WEEKEND PACKAGE PICKUP AT GRAND LAKE POST OFFICE RESTORED

Following requests I made in a letter to the USPS District Manager (CO-WY District) last week, the USPS announced that the Dillon Post Office has restored 24/7 access to P.O. boxes and the Grand Lake Post Office will allow for package pickups on Saturday mornings. For local workers and busy families, these measures will help ensure they can receive medications in a timely manner, conduct their businesses, and so much more.

These are important first steps to address the ongoing mail delivery challenges in our mountain communities, but there remains much more to do to ensure everyone in Eagle, Summit, Routt, and Grand counties and beyond are receiving the level of service they deserve.

WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN WORKING ON?
  • Honored to announce the re-introduction of the SHRED Act! A bill to deliver for Colorado’s mountain towns, keep ski fees local, and bring more federal resources to our National Forests.

  • I joined Governor Polis and Colorado Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper in calling on the Forest Service to address critical post-fire recovery needs for communities impacted by the Cameron Peak & East Troublesome fires. These fires were devastating to our state, and the families in these areas need our continued support. Read the letter here.
