Meeting New Constituents & More!
Dear Friends, It’s been a wonderful week back in Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District – from Lyons to Estes Park, and the newest parts of our district like Longmont and more, it has been great to visit with so many members of our community!
On Monday, I joined in celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It was wonderful to be with the people of Lafayette as we redoubled our efforts to work together and build a better, more hopeful future. Next up, my congressional colleagues and I joined Governor Jared Polis at the Colorado State Capitol for his annual State of the State address. I look forward to continuing to work with Governor Polis on the issues that matter most to the people of Colorado.
On Thursday, I toured the Veterans Community Project in Longmont. This project supports the construction of homes for veterans experiencing homelessness in our district — learn more about our successful efforts to secure funding for the project here. We also toured local small businesses in Longmont – followed up by the very first town hall of the year! Read more about our visits, here.
To cap off the week, I joined city officials in Estes Park in touring their plans to improve emergency response and resiliency. This wildfire mitigation project was one of the community projects we secured in last year’s funding bill. We then hosted two town halls, one in Estes Park and the last in Boulder.
Even in the busiest of times, it’s always a joy to be home!
SUPPORTING RECOVERY EFFORTS IN LYONS
In December, a fire destroyed several businesses in downtown Lyons. On Friday, I met with the impacted parties and we mapped a path forward – toward rebuilding, recovering, and revitalizing this critical part of our district.
WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN WORKING ON?

This month, American seniors will see an 8.7% Social Security benefit increase, the largest single-year cost-of-living adjustment since 1981! This historic cost-of-living adjustment will help folks keep up with rising costs so they can keep the lights on and put food on the table. You can verify your increase online at SSA.gov/myaccount.
