Congressman Neguse Joins Congressional War Powers Caucus
Washington D.C. — Today, Congressman Joe Neguse joined the bipartisan Congressional War Powers Caucus, co-chaired by Representatives Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Andy Biggs (R-AZ). The caucus, launched in late June, is dedicated to restoring Congress’s constitutionally-mandated authority over matters of war and peace.
“In today’s global climate, it is more important than ever for Congress to reaffirm the war making powers placed with Congress in the constitution and commit to removing the U.S. from endless wars,” said Congressman Neguse. “The constitution provided that Congress be a co-equal branch of government in all matters of war and peace to evaluate the costs and benefits of military intervention and seek diplomatic solutions before resorting to force. I’m grateful for Representative Khanna’s leadership to restore military Congressional oversight and redirect massive defense spending back to our priorities here at home as well as our diplomatic priorities abroad. I look forward to the important work ahead as a member of the War Powers Caucus.”
