Congressmen Neguse Announces $360 Million in CARES Act Funding for Colorado Hospitals and Healthcare Providers

Washington D.C.—Today Congressman Joe Neguse announced that $360,905,482 in funding which will be immediately available to Colorado hospitals and healthcare providers as a part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to address the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding is part of $30 billion designated under CARES for hospitals and healthcare providers, and it represents the first installment of an overall package of $100 billion. A total of 4,696 Colorado providers and systems will be included in the initial package and can access the funds via an online provider portal. The remaining $70 billion will be distributed in the coming weeks.

 

“I’m grateful to see this response to provide our brave healthcare workers who are on the frontlines of COVID-19 with the vital funding they need to treat patients and prevent the further spreading of this virus,” said Congressman Neguse. “Protecting everyone’s health is my highest priority, and this initial funding can provide Colorado’s hospitals and healthcare providers with the resources they need to do their jobs. More support is needed throughout our healthcare systems, and I will continue advocating for expedited and fair dispersal of the remaining funds.”

 

Since the onset of COVID-19, Congressman Neguse has continued to fight for funding for his constituents in Colorado’s 2ndCongressional district. Congressman Neguse earlier announced four grants for Colorado community health centers in Lafayette and Summit County.
