Congressman Neguse Releases Statement on House Judiciary’s Approval of Subpoenas for Trump Administration Officials Involved in Family Separation

Washington D.C.— Following the House Judiciary Committee’s approval to authorize subpoenas for several Administration officials relating to the Trump Administration’s “zero tolerance” policy, Congressman Joe Neguse released the following statement:

“The situation at our southern border has become completely untenable. This Administration’s dangerous and cruel immigration policies have led to inhumane treatment of migrant children and countless families torn apart. Today, the House Judiciary Committee took an important step forward to ensure proper oversight of this Administration. The subpoenas authorized today will allow the Committee to ask Administration officials important questions about their family separation policy, and the detention of children and adults. It’s long past time for Congress to get answers and for this Administration to be held accountable for these outrageous policies.”
