Washington D.C.— Today, Congressman Joe Neguse passed over $3 million in federal funding for State Highway 14, US 36 and the Big Barnes Ditch trail through the U.S. House of Representatives. Funding for the projects was included in The INVEST in America Act, surface transportation reauthorization legislation which will create good-paying jobs rebuilding roads, bridges, transit, rail, and wastewater and drinking water infrastructure. In total, the Congressman has secured $20 million for local infrastructure projects in the 2nd District as part of the legislation.
The funding for Larimer County community projects will support State Highway 14, install a roundabout on US 36 in Estes Park, and pave the Big Barnes Ditch Trail in Loveland.
“In northern Colorado and across the country, increasing investments in infrastructure is a top priority. Coloradans want to know that they can rely on their highways, roads and bridges, they want to see investments in climate resiliency through our infrastructure, public transit and disaster management, and they want assurances that safety will always prioritized for commuters, pedestrians and drivers alike,” said Congressman Joe Neguse. “The INVEST in America Act lays out a plan for our future to ensure we are building strong, effective and green infrastructure that will support future generations and can always be relied on. We’re incredibly proud that the legislation passed today includes over $3 million for projects in Larimer County to repair roads, pave the Big Barnes Ditch Trail and install a roundtable in Estes Park.”
The Larimer County Neguse-led projects passed out of the House include:
- $2 million for Cameron Peak Post-Fire emergency funding for Mileposts 62-96 on State Highway 14 in Larimer County,
- $850,000 for US 36 and Community Drive Roundabout in Estes Park, and
- $500,000 for Big Barnes Ditch Trail Improvements.
