Congressman Neguse Meets With Shuttered Music Venues in Fort Collins, Discusses Support Available Through the American Rescue Plan

Fort Collins, CO—Today, Congressman Joe Neguse and Larimer Commissioner Kristin Stephens visited shuttered music venues in Fort Collins to hear about their operations amidst the pandemic, and share information about programs available to assist them in the American Rescue Plan. Congressman Neguse toured The Washington’s and The Aggie and spoke with local venue owners about operations.

“Countless small businesses and music venues in Fort Collins and throughout our state have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic impacts,” said Congressman Joe Neguse. “The American Rescue Plan provides needed resources to help small-businesses keep their doors open, keep essential workers on the job, crush the virus and get our economy moving again. The plan provides targeted help for restaurants, music venues, and industries that have seen an outsized impact while Coloradans stayed home to help slow the spread. Our office is here to assist our local businesses in Larimer County to access appropriate grants and loans available through the American Rescue Plan. Help is here, and we hope all our local businesses take advantage of these resources as they can.”

The American Rescue Plan authorizes the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program to provide emergency assistance for eligible venues affected by COVID-19. The program includes over $16 billion in grants to shuttered venues, to be administered by SBA’s Office of Disaster Assistance.
