Congressman Joe Neguse to Welcome President Biden to Colorado to Highlight Need for Clean Energy Investments

Washington, D.C. — Tomorrow, Tuesday September 14, Congressman Joe Neguse, who serves as the only Colorado member on the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, will join President Joe Biden in Colorado to highlight the need for clean energy investments and bold climate action.

“I’m honored to welcome President Biden to Colorado to highlight our state’s leadership on clean energy and climate action,” said Congressman Joe Neguse. “In Colorado, we’ve seen the impacts of the climate crisis in real time, through devastating wildfires, fatal flash flooding and some of the worst air quality in the world. Our state is also leading the nation in climate science, ingenuity and action bolstered by the world-class federal labs, higher education institutions and the leadership of state and local officials who’ve seen these impacts first-hand. To follow Colorado’s lead, and to meet the urgency of this moment, I look forward to partnering with President Biden to ensure the Build Back Better Plan includes once-in-a-century, bold investments to tackle western wildfires and the climate crisis.”

Congressman Joe Neguse continues to push for bold climate action provisions to be included in the Build Back Better Act as it is crafted in Congress. Last week, he was successful in securing a $50 billion investment to create the Climate Conservation Corps and support wildfire prevention and forest restoration. He’s also leading calls in Congress urging robust investments be made in clean energy, zero-emission vehicles and a clean energy standard.
